The lab / studio studies
A watch, a ring and a rani haar, modelled part by part in code: studio studies in construction, movement and light. They are ours, not client commissions, and all three run live on this page.
Studio study 01 / APEX A-01 — seventeen assemblies
Follow the movement.
Isolate an assembly, open the construction or run the mechanism. Seventeen assemblies, every one modelled in code; the movement keeps running while you look.

A movement you can read.
The barrel stores power, the train divides it, the escapement releases it one beat at a time and the balance keeps the beat even. Choose a part to see where it sits in that chain.
Studio study 02 / APEX Facet 02 — a ring in eight parts
Inspect the setting.
Separate the stone, claws and band, then turn them in the light. Choose the metal and the stone; every facet is cut in code.

Every stone is cut, every claw is placed.
The centre stone is a full round brilliant — table, star, bezel, girdle and pavilion facets — and the same cut repeats in every pavé and halo stone around it.
Studio study 03 / APEX Riviere 03 — a necklace built link by link
Follow the light down the line.
Hundreds of chain links, a graduated line of stones, lace-like filigree, drops that swing and a haloed centre stone. Open it, lift out any part, change the metal and the stones.

Nothing here is a texture.
Every link, collet, claw and facet is geometry cut in code, and every stone uses the same faceted light as the ring.
Study 02, filmed / APEX Facet 02
Eight parts and 67 stones, rendered from the code above and lit as a six-second loop.

Interaction explains how a thing works. Film sells how it feels. We rendered the A-01 from the code above and directed light across it as a six-second loop: same object, second job.
